Tawfiq Islamic Center is a mosque and community center at 2400 Minnehaha Avenue in Minneapolis, open daily for the five prayers and offering funeral, marriage, and family services. Its education program, Tawfiq Academy, runs a Saturday and Sunday weekend madrasah in two shifts, a Monday to Friday after-school program with homework help, and a Monday to Wednesday morning Quran memorization (Hifz) program for boys and girls ages 4 and up, covering Quran reading and Tajweed, Arabic, Islamic studies, Seerah, and Hadith. The center was founded by Minnesota's Oromo Muslim community and describes itself as open to Muslims of every background.
