Referral Program Terms

1. Eligibility

• You must be 18 or older.
• Both you and the school you refer must be located in the United States, Canada, Europe and Australia. Referrals of schools elsewhere are not eligible yet; you can leave your email on the referral page to hear when that changes.
• Alif Cloud reviews every application by hand and may approve or decline any application at its discretion, without giving a reason. We sometimes reply with a question before deciding.
• Alif Cloud may close the program to new referrers at any time. Referrers already approved keep earning on the schools they have already referred.

2. What earns commission

• Commission is earned on subscription payments that Alif Cloud actually receives from a referred school for its Alif Cloud subscription, excluding taxes.
• Free trial months, unpaid invoices and anything other than the school's own subscription payments earn nothing. Tuition and fees that families pay the school are the school's own money and never form part of this program.
• Refunds and chargebacks are deducted. If a commission on a refunded or charged-back payment has already been paid to you, the same amount is taken from your future earnings. We never ask you to send money back.

3. Rate and duration

• You earn 30% of each payment described in section 2, for as long as the school keeps paying.
• If a school stops paying, your earnings on that school stop. If it later comes back, they start again on its new payments.
• The rate and duration in force when a school signs up stay in place for that school (see section 7).
• Commissions are calculated and paid in US dollars.

4. How a school is credited to you

• A school counts as your referral when it names you in the "Referred by" field when it signs up for Alif Cloud.
• If the school forgets, it can tell us in writing (an email from the school is enough) within 30 days of signing up. After that, the referral cannot be credited.
• A school can have only one referrer: the person it names. Alif Cloud's records are final on the question.
• Schools that already use Alif Cloud, and schools that were already in contact with Alif Cloud (for example, had asked for a demo or a quote) before your introduction, are excluded.
• You cannot refer your own school, meaning a school you own, run, sit on the board of, or work at.
• If a referral is not credited to you, we will tell you why on request.

5. Payouts

• We pay monthly. The minimum balance for a payout is $25; smaller balances roll over to the following month.
• Each commission becomes payable 30 days after the school's payment clears. This covers the school's money-back period and most refunds.
• Before your first payout we will ask for your payout details and, where required, a tax form such as a W-9 in the United States or the equivalent for your country. We cannot pay until we have them.
• Payouts are made by bank transfer. Your bank may charge a fee to receive an international transfer; that fee is yours.

6. What we ask of you

Schools trust Alif Cloud with families and children. Referrers represent that trust, so we ask for a few clear rules.

• No unsolicited mass email or text messages. Introduce schools you know, the way you would in person.
• No misleading claims about Alif Cloud, its prices, its features or its results.
• No paid search advertising on the name "Alif Cloud" or close variations of it.
• Do not present yourself as Alif Cloud staff or as speaking for Alif Cloud.
• Where the law requires it, tell people that you may be paid for referrals. In the United States, for example, the Federal Trade Commission requires that disclosure.

7. Changes to these terms

Alif Cloud may change these terms, including the rate, with 30 days' notice by email to the address on your application. A change applies only to schools referred after the change date. Schools already referred keep the terms that were in place when they signed up.

8. Ending participation

• You can leave the program at any time by emailing hello@alifcloud.com.
• Alif Cloud may end your participation if you break these terms. We will tell you the reason.
• Unpaid commissions that arise from a breach of these terms are forfeited. Commissions properly earned before your participation ends are paid on the normal schedule.

9. Taxes and independence

• Referrers are independent. You are not an employee, agent, partner or representative of Alif Cloud, and you cannot make commitments on our behalf.
• You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn. Where the law requires it, we will report payments to the tax authorities and give you the matching statement.

10. Privacy

This section explains what the application collects and why. Our Privacy Policy applies as well.

• What we collect: your name, email address, phone number, country, city and region, your connection to Islamic schools and dugsis, anything you add in the optional note, your agreement to these terms, and the time you applied.
• Why: to review your application, reply to you, run the program, credit referrals to you, pay you, and meet our legal and tax obligations.
• Where it goes: applications are delivered to Alif Cloud by our form provider, Web3Forms, which forwards them by email and does not keep a copy. We keep them in our own records.
• How long: declined applications are deleted 12 months after the decision. Approved referrers’ details are kept while they are in the program and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
• Your choices: you can ask to see, correct or delete your application at any time by emailing privacy@alifcloud.com. Nothing on the application is pre-ticked. If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Union, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, you can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing the same address; withdrawing consent ends your application or participation.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be settled by talking to us first will be brought in the state and federal courts located in Hennepin County, Minnesota. This matches the governing-law clause of our Terms of Use.
